Cupcakes Squared

I was craving for a bakery shop wanting some good bread, but then someone told me to check out Cupcakes Squared on 3772 Voltaire Street. When I went to the little shop, there were so many options to choose from. As the name of the shop suggests, all the cupcakes are actually square. I chose two flavors, the Pineapple Coconut and the Mini Lilikoi.

The Pineapple Coconut was a pretty good size was just right. It had a fluffy frosting with coconut flakes that were toasted. The frosting tasted buttery, but more then anything was whipped cream. The cake was soft but yet a little bit dried. The texture of the cake reminded me of cornbread. The combination of the crunchy coconut, with the cream and cake is a mouth-watering bite, wanting more. The Mini Lilikoi is sooooo tiny that I can inhale it in my mouth. Even though it was a small bite, it had a lemon/lime taste with a hint of passion fruit. Because of the small size, it was more moist then the last one.

Overall, this place is worth it, except the price. For a regular cupcake, it costs about $3.75 dollars. For the mini cupcake it was way overpriced costing about $1.25 dollars. This is definitely puts people in a predicament. Do you want to spend a lot of money for just one cupcake, or for even a mini cupcake?
