Mona Lisa Italian Foods

When picturing the Mona Lisa, she looks like a sad woman, but why? When I went to eat at The Mona Lisa Italian Foods in Little Italy on 2061 India Street the food was amazing! The food could take Mona Lisa’s smirk off and make it into a smile! The restaurant was very busy and waskind enough to seat a party of seven on a busy night. They seated us around 8:30pm and we ordered our food after 8 minutes. At 9:00pm we received our two pizzas, one being Ricotta Cheese and the other The Works.

The Ricotta pizza as you can imagine was a really cheesy pizza. Besides ricotta, the pizza also had mozzarella cheese. Ricotta cheese was the more dominate one with a grainy texture. The tomato sauce had a sweet, tangy taste to it. All of these ingredients are placed perfectly on a thin, crunchy crust and absorbs all the sauce on it.

The Works has several ingredients like onions, sausage, pepperoni, cheese, and mushrooms. The onions are sweet and mostly overpower the pizza. It had a mild sausage and of course a sweet tangy tomato sauce. The garlic bread was also a delightful part of the meal. It was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It had butter and garlic powder.

This restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Little Italy and has good quality Italian food. I definitely recommend this restaurant especially for Italian food. They even have great desserts. The last time I came, I had a tiramisu and it was delicious! What is even more amazing and adds a true experience of Italian cuisine is that there is a deli that is run by the same people of Mona Lisa. If you have never had true Italian food, Mona Lisa is the best place to start.
